Going by car also means that you’ll be able to find lovely little spots along the way. The roads in Florida are both well maintained and and well signposted. In short, driving in the state is a very pleasant experience. Below we’ll mention a few of our favourite places in the area.
One of the nicest places in Florida is Key West. Key West is an island off the southern coast of Florida. It is connected to the mainland by the Seven Mile Bridge, and driving on the bridge is an experience in itself. Key West has an amazing climate and nice beaches, shops and restaurants. Whether you want to soak up some sunlight at the beach or experience the culture, there are things to discover in Key West. The drive from Fort Lauderdale takes about three and a half hours.
The charming city of Cape Coral is a two hour drive northwest of Fort Lauderdale. The city is located right on the coast, and is known for having the most extensive canal system of any city in the world. Cape Coral has both a metropolitan atmosphere and proximity to nature since the beautiful Pine Island is right outside the city. For families, there is a large water park to visit.
Kennedy Space Center
