Car hire in Ibiza

On this page you’ll get tips and advice on hiring a car on Ibiza, and the cheapest rental cars at guaranteed lowest price. If this is your first time renting a car in Spain, please read our general tips on car hire in the country via the link below.

Car hire at Ibiza Airport

95 % of all flights to Ibiza land at Ibiza Airport (airport code: IBZ). The major car rental firms have their offices directly in the Arrivals hall. Most of the firms also give you the possibility to rent a car in Ibiza town. The airport is directly connected to the major motorways on the island, making it easy to get to other parts of Ibiza.

Please note that the high season in Ibiza is between May and October. If you want to rent a car during this period, you should book your car well in advance. Also be careful not to say yes to extra insurances offered – these may already included in the rental agreement.

Where to go on Ibiza

Ibiza may be known as a party place, but the island has more to it than that. With a car, you’ll be able to get around the island and find all the nice, cosy spots. Below we’ll mention a few of our favourites.

Santa Eulària des Riu
Santa Eulària des Riu is Ibiza’s third largest city and also the only town on the island with a river. In the summer, there are many different markets here that are worth visiting, including two well-known and popular hippy markets: Punta Arabi and Las Dalia. The city also has a beautiful old church, the Església de Puig de Missa, which is situated on a mountain slope.

The small island of Formentera is a 30 minute boat ride south of Ibiza. You can bring your car aboard the ferry, and the island is ideal for a day trip. Formentera is great for snorkelling and scuba diving as the water is completely clear. There are also beautiful footpaths if you feel like going for a hike!

Cova de Can Marçà
The expectional Cova de Can Marçà cave is in northern Ibiza. The cave is over 100 000 years old and has many beautiful stalagmites. It has a heigh of 45 feet, and with its stunning lighting, Cova de Can Marçà is definitely one of the places in Ibiza worth seeing.
