Car hire at Fuerteventura Airport

Fuerteventura airport (airport code: FUE) is only three miles from Puerto Del Rosario, which is the biggest city on the island. The airport services scheduled flights and charter flights, and is an excellent starting point if you are renting a car. You’ll find several car rental firms directly connected to the Arrivals hall.

There will also be car rental firms in some cities on the island, depending on the company you choose.

Where to go on Fuerteventura

Although Fuerteventura is the second largest of the Canary Islands, it is the most quiet. Driving here is a completely different experience than driving on the neighbouring island Gran Canaria. There are many destinations and nice places to make stops in on Fuerteventura!

The small and cosy city of Betancuria is on the western part of the island. Betancuria has a long and interesting history that can be felt and experienced all over the city. There is an interesting and beautiful 17th century church, and the city is also home to many artisans who sell their work here.

Parque Natural de Corralejo
With its stunning views and amazing sand dunes, the Corralejo nature reserve in the North-East is a definite must. Walking around the sand dunes is often described as wandering in the desert, but with the sea just around the corner. There are also a number of popular beaches by the nature reserve.

The beaches of Costa Calma
Costa Calma runs along the southern coast of Fuerteventura. Here you’ll find about a mile long coastal strip with many great beaches. There are several nice restaurants and bars along the coast, and it’s also possible to try out water-skiing and jet-skiing.
