In Paris, there is a very large number of car rental offices scattered across all parts of the city. You can, therefore, pick up your rental car at many different locations. Below you’ll find a list of some of the most frequently visited areas where there are many car rental offices.
- Paris train stations: The two main train stations in Paris are Gare du Nord and Gare de l’Est. They are both in central Paris, relatively close to each other. Adjacent to both of them, you’ll find several car rental offices. You’ll also find a considerable amount of offices at the smaller Gare de Lyon train station in southeastern Paris. In short, picking up your rental car upon arrival at a train station in Paris is very convenient.
- Central Paris: There are numerous car rental offices in the most central parts of Paris. For example, car hire is available near the Louvre and Champs Elysees. There are also three big car hire offices by the train station Gare Saint Lazare. You’ll also find a few offices by Etoile Foch. Getting out of Paris to its surrounding areas from these offices is smooth and easy.
- South Paris: There are plenty of good car hire possibilities in the southern parts of Paris. You’ll find seven offices near the train station Gare Montparnasse, located between Montparnasse and Necker.
Car hire at Paris Airport
The three main international airports in Paris are Orly, Charles de Gaulle and Beauvais-Tillé.
The biggest one of these is Charles de Gaulle (airport code: CDG), which is also the second-busiest airport in Europe. It is located about 16 miles from central Paris.
Beauvais-Tillé Airport (airport code: BVA) is quite far away, about 53 miles from Paris. The closest one is Paris Orly Airport (airport code: ORY), which is only about 8 miles south of central Paris.
The major car rental companies have offices at all of these airports, and there are excellent road connections from all of them to Paris.

Normandy
