Where to go around Leeds
Since Leeds is located in the middle of West Yorkshire, it is easy to get to many interesting places in its vicinity. Yorkshire is known for its amazing nature, and you’ll also find many cosy towns worth visiting.
On the east coast of Yorkshire, in the beautiful Scarborough, there are both historical sights and beaches. Scarborough is located in a rocky area, and its old Castle looks out over the town from a hill. Scarborough has long been known as one of Yorkshire’s best holiday destinations, and that reputation lives on today.
The Yorkshire Dales National Park
If you want to see breathtaking scenery, a trip to the Yorkshire Dales National Park is for you. Here you’ll find hilly nature, large moors, but also interesting caves. Cycling and hiking is possible in the Park, but you can just as well take the car for a drive in the beautiful nature.
If you drive an hour south of Leeds, you’ll reach Sheffield, which is known for its large production of steel. In recent years, Sheffield has become more of a modern city, and there is much to see and do. You’ll find everything from old interesting buildings to shopping centres and the huge Wheel of Sheffield which gives great views of the city and its surroundings.
